Silicon Design Systems Expands Sales Channels in Europe, Central U.S. and India to Address Growing Interest in K-Route(TM); Company Continues Flagship1
SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 4, 2006--Silicon Design Systems, Inc., the physical design tools supplier of next-generation routing solutions, today announced expansion of its sales and support presence in Europe, the central United States, and India to service increased local interest in its breakthrough K-Route(TM) routing solution. ChipDev Solutions, SARL, located in France, was chosen to manage sales and support in Europe. Design Automation Solutions, Inc. (DASI), located in Texas, will serve as channel partner for the central U.S., and ICON Design Automation Pvt. Ltd., was chosen as the distributor serving India. These activities follow the successful launch of K-Route, the company’s flagship Interconnect Synthesis product that routes, analyzes and optimizes concurrently to achieve smaller, faster, lower-power nanometer designs and reduce time to tape-out by months.

K-Route, introduced at DAC 2005, is placement-independent Interconnect Synthesis designed to tackle nanometer challenges. It melds routing, analysis and optimization for faster convergence and better results. K-Route progressively optimizes the design by interleaving routing, analysis and optimization. It recognizes potential electrical, geometrical and DFM violations, and optimizes the design during routing. By applying intra-route optimization and dynamically updating the critical signals list during the convergence flow, it eliminates iteration loops that can prolong nanometer design time by months in traditional approaches. AFRA, K-Route’s Adaptive, Fine-grained Routing Architecture, incrementally uses routing, extraction, analysis and optimization to complete tightly constrained designs at a much finer level of granularity than other tools. K-Route uses Super-Signal(TM) optimization to allow permutations of global route implementation during routing.
