During 2009, 15 of Mformation’s mobile operator customers successfully launched or extended device management services based on Mformation’s award winning MFORMATION SERVICE MANAGERTM suite. These customers span North America, Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa, and are deploying across CDMA and GSM cellular network technologies as well as over 4G/WiMAX networks. Some highlights include:

  • An increasing number of Mformation’s customers have launched new, advanced MDM services for their subscribers, supporting new capabilities such as over-the-air application distribution and control;
  • Mformation’s solutions are live in North America and Asia and are delivering advanced MDM capabilities to 4G/WiMAX devices from leading mobile broadband providers, including Clearwire and UQ Communications; and
  • Several leading tier-one operators successfully launched new, hosted device management services for their enterprise customers during 2009.

“2009 was a year of continuing momentum for Mformation in the face of difficult economic conditions. We saw acceleration in the demand for our advanced mobile device management solutions in all regions of the world. Many of our mobile operator customers launched or extended their existing device management services during 2009,” said Todd DeLaughter, CEO of Mformation. “In 2010, we will further evolve existing customers in their maturity of lifecycle management for mobile devices, we will roll up the WiMAX market as carriers transition towards LTE and we will expand our partner ecosystem to bring Mformation-patented mobile device management capabilities to other markets,” continued DeLaughter.

STANDARDS LEADERSHIP

Mformation has continued to drive standards into the device management industry. The company’s continuing contributions and investments in OMA Device Management (DM) are paying dividends as new OMA-DM devices come to market. Increasing numbers of mobile devices are shipping with an embedded OMA-DM client. Ovum estimates that in 2009, over one third of the mobile devices coming to market were shipped with full OMA-DM support. This trend will continue through 2010, further expanding the footprint of mobile devices that benefit from advanced standards-based mobile device management. Mformation is committed to continued standards leadership and is actively driving support for OMA DM into multiple live implementations around the globe.

PARTNERS JOIN MDM ECOSYSTEM

Mobile handset vendors are now coming to Mformation for certification and self-certification of mobile devices based on Mformation’s presence as a de facto standard in large carrier environments. These certification programs are critical to ensuring that mobile operators can support the widest possible range of devices. Mformation now has programs in place with over 20 of the leading device vendors and supports more than 3,500 different mobile devices, with new devices added every day.

For several of the largest mobile operators, Mformation works closely with system integration and solution partners. Long-time system integration partners such as HP help to implement advanced MDM services at key Mformation accounts such as Vodafone and Telefónica Móviles. Recognizing the growing strategic importance of both Mformation and the MDM category, Mformation received an HP CES Partner of the Year Award for 2009.
