Casio Adopts Unique Point of Sale Solution with MyThings1
MyThings Announces First Channel Partnership with Manufacturer
MyThings (mythings.com), the global online registry of belongings, has announced its partnership with Casio Electronics Co Limited, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of consumer electronics products and business equipment solutions. By integrating MyThings with both its product registration website (casio.co.uk) and its new e-commerce site (casioatcarnaby.co.uk), Casio can now offer its customers automatic inclusion of Casio products in the owners’ MyThings portfolio. Once the free, secure portfolios are activated, members are invited to register their other valuables, also free of charge.
With MyThings portfolios, members have everything they need to enjoy what they own. For example, they can:
· Store details of their belongings online, including receipts, specifications, and warranties
· Track the value of their things; gain access to relevant information, services, and accessories
· Compile a private inventory of their belongings for insurance-related purposes
· Share stories about their belongings with friends, family, and other members
· Explore other people’s collections by viewing publicly displayed items in Everyone’s Things
· Communicate with other members who share similar interests
Casio represents MyThings’ first channel partnership with an original equipment manufacturer (OEM). MyThings also has a number of retail partners in the UK, including Halfords (cycle and car accessories), Jessops (photographic equipment) and Goldsmiths (fine jewellery).
Tim Gould, Divisional Manager Marketing for Casio, commented, "MyThings is a natural partner for us. Online portfolios help our customers manage and track their Casio products in a new and easy way. The partnership demonstrates Casio’s commitment to continue to serve our customers after the sale through the power of the Internet.”
"We are thrilled that Casio is our first OEM partner in the UK,” added Benny Arbel, CEO of MyThings. “MyThings has the advantage of serving as a neutral third party to make it easy for consumers to stay connected with the brands they know and love. We give consumers the privacy controls they demand, while offering partners like Casio additional access to their installed base.”
MyThings’ sister site Trace.com, provides further long-term benefit to MyThings members by helping them recover their valuables if they are lost or stolen. The company’s rich network of auction houses and second-hand dealers searches the Trace database before buying or selling goods to help ensure that items have not been reported stolen, looted, or missing. Should a stolen item appear in a search, the appropriate authorities are alerted by the searcher to facilitate recovery and return the item to the original owner.
